Cedar Run HOC Election Scheduled for August 4th, 2016

By now, Cedar Run homeowners should have received a notice from the receiver about the election.  This notice should have included a self-nomination form for those who wish to run for a position on the new board.  (We will post a scanned copy of this nomination form on the blog shortly)

We encourage all who want to take part in deciding Cedar Run's future to fill out this form and turn it into the clubhouse before 6/29/16.  We also welcome you to email us at restoreCR@gmail.com if you'd like us to consider posting your information (i.e. bio, qualifications or any statements you'd like to make) on this blog.  If you are unable or undecided by the 6/29 deadline, don't let that deter you from running.  You can still do so as a write-in candidate, and write-in candidates often win elections in community associations like ours.

It has been FOUR YEARS since the last election for this board.  Let's all participate in the process and select the best candidates to move Cedar Run forward!

More information will be posted in the next few days, so please stay tuned.

  1. Well it's about time!!

Let's see some responsible people step up to the plate. People who know a thing or two about the law and about associations, buildings, finance, etc. would be a plus.

But more importantly than knowledge or experience, I want people who think and make good decisions.....even if they don't know didley-squat about all of the above. Part of being a good decision maker involves admitting when you don't know something and educating yourself or asking those who know and getting good advice

I'd like to think we can all agree that we don't need another demagogue (hope I spelled it right) who claims to know everything and have all the answers, only to be proven wrong by getting removed by the court and subsequently having everything he did undone. I won't mention any names, but I'll give you three guesses :)

Oh and my last requirement, NO CONFLICTS OF INTEREST!!

    2. I would also add that we should be wary of anyone making promises that sound too good to be true.

We know where that got us before when we were told that our assessments would be cut in half and we would also get better service. I may still have the postcard. I was skeptical and didn't believe it, but a lot of people ate it up.
