Who We Are

Who are the Cedar Run Concerned Homeowners??
We are a group of homeowners in the Cedar Run townhouse/condo community located in Wheeling, Illinois.

We are tired of sitting back and watching our community decline, and we are now taking action!  We believe that the responsibility for this rapid decline falls primarily on our former HOC board and their (formerly) well-paid leaders, Robert Sher & Jack Shaw.  With no election in over two years and their bogus bylaws, their unchecked power has badly hurt the community.  We look forward to the court-ordered election in the summer/fall of 2015, and we are relieved to see Robert Sher kept out of our affairs by the court-appointed receiver in the meantime.

We are all homeowners.  Most of us are owner-occupants; some of us are off-site owners; some of us are both owner-occupants and investor owners.  Some of us are raising our children in Cedar Run.  Some of us have already raised our families in Cedar Run.

We have NO allegiance to ANY management company or contractor.

Our Mission

It's simple.  We want a board of directors consisting of responsible adults making sound decisions for the good of the community.  We want critical thinkers who question and debate one another to find the best solutions.  We want volunteers who receive no compensation for their services and devote themselves to the greater good of the community.  We want a law-abiding board that seeks guidance to make sure they are doing things legally and properly.  We want democracy and due process as our TRUE governing documents require.

The HOC board that has operated over the past three years has failed miserably on all of the above concerns.  We feel that the only way to put our community back on track is to permanently oust their leadership - their paid management company masquerading as a committee, Robert Sher and Jack Shaw.

If you agree with any of the above statements, then you too are a Concerned Homeowner!

We are already one step closer to our goal, as the courts have removed the Sher/Shaw group from power until a proper election is held.  We will soon have the opportunity to vote in a responsible board!
