Board Likely to Decide on Management at 12/14 Meeting

The Cedar Run HOC board will reportedly try to make a final decision on management at their 12/14 board meeting.  There are five total candidates being considered, which include HHSG (who formerly served as receiver).

The names of the management companies under consideration will not be published on this blog, out of respect for the privacy of the candidates (this is a public website and could affect search engine results).   However, Cedar Run homeowners are welcome to email the blog team at restoreCR@gmail.com for a complete list of candidates.

All owners are encouraged to attend the 12/14 meeting.  Normal board business will be conducted at the meeting, followed by a homeowner session.  This session will be an opportunity for homeowners to provide final comments or feedback before the board debates its management options.  The board may decide to have these discussions/debates in a closed session, but the results will be announced immediately thereafter.

As always, feel free to email restoreCR@gmail.com or call (or text) the blog hotline at (224) 544-9058 with any questions or comments.

    1. Reportedly, personnel will not change,in the near term at least. If you see clubhouse activity at odd hours, please make note of it and inform your board members and be as detailed as possible. If you prefer to remain anonymous, feel free to email us at restorecr@gmail.com and the information will be relayed appropriately.

    1. You know what they say...."Haters gonna Hate...."

First of all, there may have been several reasons they made this choice, including information you are not privvy to or wouldn't know unless you ask or show up at a meeting now and then.

Second....Yelp? Please!!! Find me one well known management company that gets a decent rating there. People go to Yelp only to bitch and complain about their management company...kinda like this blog (wink, wink). Most of the complaints about property management firms on yelp aren't even the company's fault.

Third....interesting to see you complain about "Zink/Alma" people on the board. I guess you are okay with the Sher supporters that are on the board. I find that quite telling. But none of that matters any longer, and it is time to look forward and not back. Don't like some of the board members? Then run for the board next May.

    1. Wish I knew what the hell you meant...

It sounds like you are recommending that the phases do NOT use the same management company as the HOC?? Does that mean you are happy having five management companies operating on the property?

I think anyone who has any sense would agree that the opposite is better...that if all the phases sign on with the same company, things will be a lot simpler. It will also likely cost less because certain management expenses can be shared.

I don't know what kind of special deal you had with the receiver that makes you unconditionally loyal, but you need to get over it.

Happy New Year to everyone from the Confuzzled Curmudgeon.

    1. Please stay tuned for the next newsletter from the board that will summarize what has happened and what is in the works. It will likely be attached to the statement that you receive from HHSG, so please be sure to open the envelope and look for it.

Furthermore, you are also welcome to request copies of meeting minutes. As an owner, you are entitled to this information. Do keep in mind that minutes are approved at the following month's meeting. So if you wanted a copy of the Jan 11 minutes, you would need to make that request after February 8th.

The board has indicated that they will plan to make information like this available on an association website, once the management transition is complete.

    1. Thanks for commenting. There seems to be a misunderstanding regarding how the management transition works.

Mainly, you need to understand that every phase is a separate association with its own board. Therefore each phase board must make its own decision on management. HOC board cannot dictate what the phases do in terms of management. The description in the newsletter is accurate.

Once it is reported to this blog, there will be a blog post that details the disposition of each phase, along with timelines.

    2. I'll add that people need to understand that getting this place in order is a slow process. Urgent needs must come first. Yes we all want the sign replaced, but I'd prefer to have the finances in order first and also pass some rules.

Dog poop, Walmart carts, etc. are the fault of the residents; not the board/management. Board can't stop it. They can only deal with the fallout. If you see people failing to pick up after their pet, write down their address and report them. If you see a kid pushing a Walmart Cart through the neighborhood, call the police - it's theft!

Amen to your comment on the storm doors. They should be fined if they don't comply. Hopefully new management will be on top of things in terms of inspections for these types of issues.

    1. Some updates will be posted within the next few days. Primarily to update everyone on the management status.

Eventually Associa will create a public website for this specific purpose.
