Cedar Run HOC Board Meeting Tomorrow

Cedar Run HOC Board Meeting
Wednesday 11/9/16 7PM
Cedar Run Clubhouse

Tomorrow is the 2nd Wednesday of the month, meaning that it's board meeting time!  Since receivership officially ended as of 11/1, this is technically the first board meeting with a fully empowered board.  As always, we encourage all homeowners to attend.

We can probably expect an update on parking and the search for management.

We have also received word that HHSG will give a brief presentation, immediately following all board business.  HHSG is currently under a short-term, interim management agreement with the board.  It is our understanding that they will be presenting the board with a proposal to manage the HOC for the long term.  Board members have indicated that HHSG is one of the management candidate that they are considering.

It is also our understanding that some of the limitations to HHSG's management ability within that last two years were due, in part, to the legal constraints of receivership.  Our experience with them may be somewhat different now that receivership has ended.  Perhaps this will be better explained during the presentation.

As always, you are fee to direct any questions to restoreCR@gmail.com, and we will pass it along to the appropriate party.

  1. I thought I heard that the board will soon meet with other companies too. I sure hope all these meetings will be open to homeowners as well. With this crazy mish-mosh of management companies that is Cedar Run, we owners deserve a chance to see what other companies have to offer.

If we find someone that is worthwhile, maybe we can get rid of the mish-mosh and finally be under one company for the first time in 20 years.

  2. Why do I still see the Clubhouse employees at the Clubhouse at non scheduled hours? I thought they were only there Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. Also, thought we were going to get rid of them once out of Receivership..

    1. Obviously they cannot get rid of the employees if they need them to register people for parking and inspect garages.

I personally think they should have hired temps to do the garage inspection to ensure that nobody gets preferential treatment. Hopefully someone on the board is checking their work to make sure it is done objectively.

I've noticed clubhouse activity on odd days as well. It's worth asking about it at a board meeting. There could be an innocent explanation or a disturbing one. We all pay for this clubhouse. It shouldn't be anybody's "sandbox". My guess is that the board is still figuring out how things operate, so they may "in the dark" like the rest of us.

    1. Allegedly, everybody who rents the clubhouse signs a contract and agrees to all the rules, including the one that forbids alcohol.

No idea what else they could do to enforce this rule without sending a "prohibition agent" into the parties to check for alcohol. That or spy on the parties with the security cameras. I am personally not comfortable with either solution.

If you see drunken, unruly activity spilling out of the clubhouse, call and report it. Maybe they can hold back the deposit if there is clear evidence of blatant alcohol use.
