"Community Fun Night"

Hooray!!

Things are going so well in Cedar Run that Robert Sher is throwing us a party to celebrate......NOT!!!

In case you haven't noticed the giant banner on the clubhouse (or lawn signs on every street), Robert Sher is hosting a "Community Fun Night" on 5/17.

Our translation of "Community Fun Night" is:  Robert Sher attempting to buy your support by spending your money on a party where he will flood you with propaganda about what a great job he is doing, how much money he has saved you, and that all problems are someone else's fault.

Why do this??
Because Sher has finally realized that he will soon be forced to conduct an election, despite his adamant insistence that he isn't required to conduct one. (aka his so-called "judge-approved election process").  Now that he has realized that avoiding an election will no longer work, his new strategy involves the following approach:

  1. Try and push off the election to as late a date as possible
  2. Try and win as much support as possible in the meantime (using clubhouse party nights as a tool to lure people to hear his message)
  3. Scare homeowners into signing their vote over to him by making bogus claims about his opposition.

For those who decide to attend, we ask you the following:
  • How much do you think the party itself costs (along with the custom-printed banner and lawn signs)?
  • Wouldn't you rather see your assessment dollars spent on maintaining the property rather than food, fun, games, & propaganda?
Think about whether Cedar Run is a better place to live now than it was three years ago before you sign anything that Robert Sher or his apostles put in front of you.  Carefully read ANYTHING you are ever asked to sign by the Sher group.....a pool pass application or parking registration form should never have the word "Proxy" written on it. (wink, wink)

Expect many more of these events between now and the election.  These will be Sher's new version of the Hot Dog & Ice Cream Proxy Party he threw back in 2012.......And just like that one, Cedar Run homeowners are picking up the tab.

Remember this?

 Enjoy the Party!!!

  1. Question......Have we access to The Master Boards Tax reports and Budget reports? I feel with all these law suits back and forth...some answers may lay there....

    1. By law, we (homeowners) are entitled to view all of these documents if we make a request in writing. The problem is that the Sher group has ignored multiple document requests. So, a homeowner's only recourse would be to file suit.

The check images that we have posted and distributed were from the lawsuit. They were ruled by the judge to be discoverable, and they were subpoenaed directly from the bank (MB Financial).

At this point, we believe the most effective use of our resources and time is to push for the election. We believe this election will happen within the next couple months. After the Sher group is ousted, we can take a look at the records and hire a certified fraud examiner if necessary.

  2. Phase 5 homeowners got a letter from HOC saying that some homeowners were not paying association fees to the bank, so everyone would have ti show proof of payments, I went to talk to them about this matter, I told the person that was there I made all my payments and that they were asking for proof from when I made the full amount to HOC and they were supposed to send alma property management their part, so I asked them to show me proof that they paid alma and they told me they did have any records of it, it makes me wonder what kind of business robert is running. When he wants me to go to the bank where I sent the payment to get proof. But he cant give me any proof of my payments to him, Robert must go. There saying I owe over 1500 dollars even though I have made all my payments

    1. We're very sorry to hear this......The Sher group's takeover of phase 5 was done in an underhanded way, and we don't consider it to be legal. The problem is that Barrington Bank has given them authorization to control the bank funds. As long as Barrington bank gets their loan payment, they will not question anything.

The single most detrimental (and outright idiotic) decision that Sher ever made was to instruct all homeowners to make their entire payment to the HOC. Not only did it create utter confusion and lead to multiple lawsuits, but it created an accounting nightmare that nobody can seem to solve.

Once again, another botched effort from Sher, with zero planning or consideration of the long-term consequences. You and many other homeowners are victims of this botched effort......all along you were only doing what you though was correct, based on the mailings you received (not to mention the threats to boot your car).

How the Sher group could possibly ask you for proof of payments that you made to THEM is mind-boggling. We can say with confidence that they probably did NOT send your phase portion to the bank or APM. If that is the case, then the Sher group owes you credits for those months. Otherwise, you are being double-dipped for the same payments!!

Whether you present them to the Sher group or not, we strongly recommend that you go to your bank and ask them for proof of payment (check images) for all of the months in question. You should have these records available in case they pursue collections against you.

Feel free to email us at restoreCR@gmail.com if you'd like any help with your specific situation. If they continue to go after you, they may be in violation of fair debt collection laws.

    1. Thanks for your comment, and thank you for pointing out the stark comparison to Lexington.

Just to clarify.....nothing that anyone signs at this party could stop the election. By law, the board must have an ANNUAL election of at least 3 directors per year AND any directors who were appointed (not elected) to the board must be up for re-election at the annual meeting that follows their appointment to the board.

What this means.....anyone and everyone on the board except for Barbara Shaw will be up for re-election!! That's right.....everyone on the board (except for Barb) is either past their 3 year term or they were never elected in the first place!

This clubhouse party is just a ploy to win homeowners' support and give themselves a captive audience to THEIR message. Whether they have the gall to ask for signatures is yet to be seen.

    2. thanks for clairifing the election by-law why? you wrote everyone on the masterboard except barbara shaw is up for re election? if we dont get her off the board how is it we get rid of robert when he's running the show !

    3. Barb was elected to a 3 year term at the 2012 annual meeting. Therefore, she us up for reelection next year.

If the entire board (except for Barb) is turned over, new officers will be voted in by the new board members, and she will no longer be president. At that point, she will be outnumbered and virtually powerless.

She can still be removed by way of a Special meeting. We'd rather not get into the specifics in this public comment section , but feel free to email for details.

  4. It's our understanding that attendance to this 'Community Fun Night' event was fairly low and consisted mainly of people that are already diehard supporters of Sher.

No reports of people being asked to sign anything, although we have heard that the Sher group is promising people a $40/mo assessment reduction for their support.

The details on this promise are very vague, but that's what we've heard. Is this $40/mo just for the supporters, or is it for everyone? Is this $40 number based on Sher's delusional belief that he can make our loan payments go away?

Remember when Sher promised a 50% reduction in assessments and the same level of services if you voted him in power? How's that 50% working out for you?? How are the services?? By now, Cedar Run homeowners should know not to believe empty promises from Robert Sher, and we believe that they do know.
