Sher's Parking Program

We have received some emails about homeowners getting $50 parking tickets on while parking Cedar Run streets.

So.....apparently after nearly two years of doing absolutely nothing to enforce parking rules and bringing us parking Anarchy, Sher has gone right to ticketing cars that don't have the latest parking permit.

Gee, maybe after establishing a precedent of doing nothing for so long, you might think about issuing a warning before fining people $50 with these parking tickets.  Just sayin'.......

We've also heard from homeowners and renters who say that they paid and submitted all their paperwork months ago, but still have not received their parking permits.  Will these people be ticketed??

This ticketing program begs some additional questions....

What happens to a car that does not have a permit but was never registered with the master board?  How do they know which owner to fine?  Only the police can run someone's license plate, so how does Sher enforce this $50 fine??  We have no towing company, so that option is out.

It's almost as if Cedar Run homeowners have an incentive to NOT register their vehicle with the board.....

  2. Thank you for tallying up the violations....77 is a staggering number; that's $3850 in fines!!

Efforts are already underway to remove Sher and his board, and great strides have already been made. We will publish further details on this in a later post.

Bottom line, as you've already stated in your comment, it's the HOMEOWNERS who have the power to remove Sher. Sher's popularity is at an all-time low, probably limited to family members and those he has on the payroll.

Now is a better time than ever to push forward a mandate from Cedar Run Homeowners, and get our community back on track.

  4. I don't like Robert, but to be fair, he's released statements saying that they would start enforcing the parking rules so it's completely your fault if you got a ticket.

  5. Point taken. We do agree that the parking situation was out of control, and that some enforcement was necessary. We definitely don't endorse the lack of enforcement and 'parking anarchy' that we've seen over the last two years.

We still feel that it was a botched program given the way it was executed. The Sher group has "cried wolf" several times, giving dates that parking rules would go into effect and never doing anything. In the first iteration, they even threatened to boot cars, posting a banner on the clubhouse with the effective date of the policy. It was a total bluff. This time, they went right to issuing citations. Arguably, they could have issued warnings before going right to fines after establishing such a precedent.

Also, it appears they are only ticketing cars that have not registered with the board. 'No Parking' signs are still just a mere suggestion, and double-parking and blocking dumpsters is still the norm.....so long as the offending vehicle has been registered.

    Thank you for your comment.
